Phillip Phillips Wins Season 11 Of American Idol

It was a star-studded night on American Idol as the results were looming for the eleventh season's champion. On Tuesday night's performance finale, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez both performed three separate songs. They each took on a song of Simon Fuller's choice, a favorite of theirs from the season and their coronation song. Phillip won the coin toss and opted to be a gentleman and let Jessica sing first.

Phillip barely received any praise from the judges on his first two songs, yet they heaped it on with Jessica. However, the coronation song was the game changer for both of them. Jessica performed a craptastic song called Change Nothing, while Phillip belted out a song called Home, much to everyone's enjoyment.

After a two-hour season finale last night, at the last minute, Ryan Seacrest announced the results. Phillip Phillips has made Leesburg, Georgia proud as he has brought home the Idol crown. After 132 million votes, he has emerged victorious.

He was presented with the trophy by Howdy Doody himself, Scotty McCreery and then left to fade off into nothingness where he came from. It was a night full of tributes, Chaka Khan in a too-tight pantsuit, Jennifer Holliday making some crazed, whacked out looking faces and ManTasia doing a duet with Fantasia (they're both screamers). The most hilarious part was when the Idols sang the phone book.

The best part of the night was it all sinking in for Phillip that he had won the competition. What did you think of the results?
