Kelly Clarkson, the winner of the first season of "American Idol," headlines 96.5 TIC's "All Star Christmas" 7 p.m., Thursday Dec. 1, at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre, 95 S. Turnpike Road, Wallingford.

Also performing are The Fray, Gavin Degraw and Christina Perri.

Clarkson, a former extra on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," cocktail waitress and movie usher, took advantage of her 2002 win on the singing show and has released five well received CDs, including her latest "Stronger."

The Fray, out of Denver, has toured by Weezer and Ben Folds and had success with their CD "How to Save a Life."


Gavin Degraw's first album, "Chariot," was released on in 2003 on J Records, run by the legendary Clive Davis. Five years later his second less successful self-titled disc; in 2009 he released "Free." This year he released "Sweeter."

Christina Perri found some success in 2010 when her song "Jar of Hearts" was used in "So You Think You Can Dance." It was downloaded more than 100,000 times, placing it on the Billboard Top 40. She has since toured with James Blunt.
