Man Released Early from Jail for Discontinuing Weighing the Same as a Small Hippo.
Sometimes it pays to be morbidly obese. Yahoo! recently posted a story about a 345-pound man who was previously in jail for driving on a suspended license. He was released nine whole days early, and it wasn't because he Lindsay Lohaned his way out of it with "overcrowding."
George McCovery instead lost 25 pounds in 20 days, meeting Judge Donna Miller's "lose-a-pound, gain-a-day" challenge. Well that's just spiffy!
This is one of the most well-intentioned judges we've heard of since…ever. "I do what I do to try to change the person in front of me," Miller said. In addition to challenging defendants to lose weight, she's also had them tutor math and write Christmas cards, because she's just that f***ing cool.
And McCovery certainly appreciated the opportunity. "She gave me a chance to prove myself, and I didn't want to let her down," Yahoo! quoted him telling the Orlando Sentinel.
So McCovery made it home in time for Thanksgiving and hopefully didn't gorge himself on the entire turkey after surviving on jail slop for however long. To keep the lbs. off, just remember two things, buddy: (1) Gravy is not a beverage, and (2) No, apple pie doesn't count as a fruit serving.
Congrats on the weight loss and early release! Dropping 25 isn't easy, boss. You did lose it a little fast, though, so just be safe and healthy!!
Kudos for being proactive and here's hoping you don't f*** s*** up and land yourself in jail again. xoxo
