Get Katy Perry's gorgeous cartoon make-up: Five simple steps with Pixiwoo
Create the right base
Katy Perry looks like a very glamorous cartoon character with her big, dramatic eyes, bright lips and perfect skin.
To get a flawless base, use something like Avon Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation. This works because it’s a lightweight product that’s very hydrating so it’s particularly good for dry skin.
Groomed brows
To get Katy’s huge eyes, frame the area with well-groomed brows – fill yours in with a brown eyeshadow using an angled brush.
Next, use a product like MAC Pigment Reflex Pearl loose eyeshadow (Mac, tel: 0870 034 2676), made up of tiny pieces of glitter.
Hold a tissue underneath your eye as you dab the product on to your eyelid to catch any excess.
Define the eyes
Katy’s look is influenced by the 1940s and black eyeliner is key. MAC Fluidline Gel Liner in Blacktrack is great – apply it along the top lash line and under the eyes.
Then use Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner in silver on the waterline and underneath the lashes – silver is reflective and opens up the eyes.
Next, use Bourjois Volume Fast & Perfect black mascara. It has a motorised engine, which ensures you don’t get any clumps. Finish the look with MAC no 7 false lashes.
Finishing touches
Dab a bit of concealer under your eyes to keep the area bright – Bobbi Brown’s is great. At the same time, wipe away any bits of glitter that may have fallen from the eyes.
Stop shine by applying a powder like Bourjois Pressed Powder where you need it, then sweep some Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Ambition across the cheeks to give them a soft, pink tone.
Hot lips
You should go for a red lip to finish off Katy’s look. Marks & Spencer Essential Colours Moisturising Lipstick in Bright Red is a great choice when you’re wearing fairly heavy eye make-up because it’s sheer and not too heavy.
